El SCARBEE CLAVINET es una meticulosa recreación de un Hohner Clavinet, un teclado electrofónico distintivo que ha dejado una marca indeleble en la música. Este instrumento ha sido ampliamente utilizado en géneros como el funk clásico, soul, reggae, disco y rock desde finales de los años 60. Su sonido vibrante y enérgico se asemeja a veces al de una guitarra eléctrica y se destaca especialmente cuando se toca de manera afilada y percusiva.
El PIANET, por otro lado, es una recreación de un pianet Hohner modelo N. Este instrumento es un piano electromecánico que produce su sonido mediante cañas metálicas que son golpeadas por almohadillas de espuma impregnadas con adhesivo. El resultado es un tono que recuerda al de un vibráfono, con una respuesta percusiva y una envolvente distintiva. Su sonido tiene similitudes con el Rhodes Mark 1, pero con su propia personalidad única.
El equipo de Scarbee ha llevado a cabo un exhaustivo proceso de muestreo para ambos instrumentos. Para el CLAVINET, se capturaron un total de 12,300 samples, cubriendo cada nota en las configuraciones de micrófono estándar y con la barra de mute activada. Para el PIANET, se grabaron cinco samples de release por tecla debido a su diseño mecánico más simple. Ambos modelos incorporan la tecnología de liberación horizontal de Scarbee para lograr una reproducción realista y auténtica de los instrumentos originales.

The SCARBEE CLAVINET is a meticulous recreation of a Hohner Clavinet, a distinctive electrophonic keyboard that has left an indelible mark on music. This instrument has been widely used in genres such as classic funk, soul, reggae, disco and rock since the late 1960s. Its vibrant and energetic sound sometimes resembles that of an electric guitar and stands out especially when played sharp and percussive.
The PIANET, on the other hand, is a recreation of a Hohner model N pianet. This instrument is an electromechanical piano that produces its sound using metal reeds that are struck by foam pads impregnated with adhesive. The result is a tone reminiscent of a vibraphone, with a percussive response and distinctive envelope. Its sound has similarities to the Rhodes Mark 1, but with its own unique personality.
Scarbee’s team has carried out an exhaustive sampling process for both instruments. For the CLAVINET, a total of 12,300 samples were captured, covering every note in standard microphone settings and with the mute bar activated. For the PIANET, five release samples were recorded per key due to its simpler mechanical design. Both models feature Scarbee’s horizontal release technology for realistic, authentic reproduction of the original instruments.
